Jaguar and Land Rover distributor Coventry Motors Philippines has debuted three SUV models in an effort to electrify the local motoring landscape – The Jaguar I-Pace, the Land Rover Range Rover PHEV and Range Rover Sport PHEV at its boutique showroom in Bonifacio Global City.
Starting with the I-Pace, Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV has been the talk of the town ever since its world debut in 2018. The sleek, coupe like body evoke the sporting nature of the car, dubbing it the smartest five seater sports car. It also saw racing pedigree as it was also used for a one-make racing series in conjunction with Formula E.
A 90kW battery powers two electric motors deliver power to the front and rear wheels delivering 400 horsepower and 696Nm of torque, and as with all electric cars, all the torque is accessible the moment the pedal is pressed at zero rpm. With the battery sitting between the axles, it achieves a 50:50 weight distribution, unheard of in a SUV.
With a 7kW charger, it will charge from zero to full in 12 hours and 48 minutes, but Jaguar will provide a more powerful 11kW charger for faster charges in between trips. Customers can avail for a test drive and pre order an I-Pace, starting at PHP 7,590,000.
Joining the I-Pace in the electric model trio are the Range Rover P400e PHEV and Range Rover Sport P400e PHEVs. These models are the second hybrid models introduced in the market following the Evoque mild hybrid.
The new PHEV models have 2 powertrain modes – a parallel hybrid mode that combines petrol and hybrid engine altogether, and an EV mode, which utilises solely on the electric motor for a truly silent ride. With the combined powertrain, they produce a combined 404 horsepower and 640Nm of torque from both the 2.0L four cylinder Ingenium petrol engine and the 85kW electric motor.

Both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport PHEVs produce only 64g/km of CO2 emissions and reach 2.8L/100km fuel economy on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). In Parallel Hybrid Mode, both plug-in hybrid models can reach up to 700 kilometers. In their full EV mode, it provides an all-electric range of up to 50 km without even using the petrol engine.

As with the I-Pace, it comes with a 7kW wall charger without any installation cost. The 13kwH battery can be charged from zero to full in 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Customers can now pre-order the Range Rover P400e PHEV starting at PHP11,990,000 for the short wheelbase Vogue and PHP 15,190,000 for the long wheelbase Autobiography trim; and the Range Rover Sport P400e PHEV starting at PHP 9,490,000.
Before buying either model though, Jaguar Land Rover will have to inspect your house to see if they can install a wall charger before selling you one of the three models.
The models are available for viewing in the newly renovated 5th Avenue boutique showroom in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
