Auto Nation Group, the sole distributor of Jeep and other Mopar Chrysler vehicles in the Philippines, has introduced its refreshed Renegade and Compass models for 2020, bearing more affordable price tags than last year’s offering as they are now manufactured in FCA’s plants in China.

Starting with the Renegade, it now costs PHP1,640,000 for the base Longitude model, and PHP1,790,000 for the Limited trim. Powering the new Renegade is a 1.4L Turbojet petrol engine, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. It produces 147 horsepower and 230Nm of torque.
Inside the Renegade comes with leather seats and a 7-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth functionality and Apple Carplay as standard. Other features include a start-stop engine function, and a rear camera system with rear parking sensors.

The Compass on the other hand, has finally arrived in the local shores for the first time since its appearance from last year’s Manila International Auto Show, now equipped with a 1.4L MultiAIr turbocharged inline 4 which produces 162 horsepower and 252Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, similar to the Renegade. It sits below the Cherokee as the more compact of the crossovers in the lineup, sporting a sharp look that is almost similar to its bigger brother, with a sporty looking front fascia, sharp looking headlamps with daytime running lights, the squared signature seven-slot grille, squared wheel arches, 17 inch aluminium wheels, and slim LED taillights.

The New Compass

Included inside the Compass is a 7 inch UConnect infotainment system with voice command system, and an installed 6-speaker sound system. The infotainment system also allows Bluetooth and Apple Carplay. With only one trim available, the Compass will set you back PHP1,850,000.
Both of these models also come with safety features such as  traction control, ABS, airbags, Battery Run Down Protection, electronic parking brake, electric power steering, electric stability control, and what Jeep calls Electronic Roll Mitigation, which helps the vehicle stick to the road even on extreme manoeuvres.
