Honda is Pinoy ADVertising Genio! (see what we did there?)
Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI) proved once again that they listen to the consumers – enthusiasts to be exact. They’ve just launched the much-awaited 2020 Honda ADV150 adventure class scooter and the jazzy compact GENIO.
The ADV 150, which bore similarities with its bigger sibling, the 750cc, is designed for the streets of Metro Manila, tough but with modern electronic features that will make the rider more comfortable in today’s horrendous traffic.
Power comes from a 149.3cc SOHC four-stroke, single-cylinder engine capable of 14.34hp and 13.8Nm of torque. Not bad for the pinoy enthusiast.
The ADV also sports t comes with the compulsory display and trip details, aside from the speedometer and fuel gauge, it also has trip meters and its average and instant fuel consumption. A tapered handlebar is standard, and most importantly, the very useful adjustable-windscreen is most welcome.
Boasting new suspension system, namely the longer telescopic front suspension and the eye-catching twin Showa rear coil springs with sub tanks. These is enough to make every riders drool. With that comes a bigger clearance of 165mm, than the typical scooter range of 130-135mm. More importantly, the ADV comes with a raised seat height of 795mm.
The overall look is what got us riders excited. The split LED headlights is aggressive looking, and incidentally, the X-looking taillights are all LED. The ADV150 looks like a big bike, looks fast even when standing still. If looks could kill, this ADV would be incarcerated!
The Honda ADV150 will retail at PHP149,000. Bad news is, the Honda ADV 150 will be available by January 2020. Good news is, you can start saving your moolah now!
The Honda GENIO
Although the female market is the primary target here, many can’t deny that this will also appeal to the younger male set. It’s compact, easy to navigate and most importantly, easy on the budget.
The Genio is also equipped with smart technology and power. The dual vertical LED headlights is attractive, not to mention illuminating. The digital meter panel with ECO indicator is simple and very readable even at a glance. It also features a 14L U-box under seat capacity that can store helmets and other riding paraphernalia.
The Genio is powered bya a 110cc air-cooled PGM-FI engine that is capable of 9.0 hp and 9.3Nm of torque/5500rpm, and mated to a V-belt CVT. On paper, its has a fuel efficiency of 59.1km/L. which is believable.
Oh, there’s also a power charger available. A boon for gadget loving riders.
The Honda Genio is priced at PHP72,900. A little pricey, but given the trimmings, it’s actually a steal. Best of all, it’s a Honda.
