A diverse selection of new vehicles were showcased last July 10-11 at the 6th Philippine Vehicle Summit, held at the SMX Convention Center at Pasay. The summit , attended by delegates from the ASEAN region, discussed new technologies, alternative fuel sources and also the effects of the TRAIN law on electric powered cars.
Major car manufacturers such as Nissan, Hyundai and Mitsubishi also displayed thier respective electric powered cars and crossovers, now with fast charging apparatus and accessories. This promises quicker charging and home charging from regular electric outlets is now a viable option.
Here are some of the vehicles displayed.
E-Buses, E-Trikes and Bikes
A pleasant surprise was this Aurelio sportscar, now powered by Leguider electric motor.
The use of fossil fuel, as well as environmental issues will be addressed by EMVs. As the summit conclusion, it seems that the future of electric vehicles in the Philippines has a bright future.
