The Soongs and the fabulous Lusso

A car designed for the discerning aficionado, the Ferrari GTC4Lusso ushers in a whole new world of driving experience. Anywhere, anytime, be it on short drives or cross- country jaunts, twisting mountain roads or urban streets, this is the supercar to ride in. Unlike the usual fabulous Ferrari supercars, this is a four-passenger car with a luggage compartment. Although this negates the membership to a sports car club, it still is a formidable, and powerful Ferrari.

The GTC4Lusso’s name references its illustrious predecessors, such as the 330 GTC or its 2+2 sister model, the 330 GT – one of Enzo Ferrari’s favorites – and the 250GT Berlinetta Lusso, which represented a combination of elegance and high performance. The number 4 alludes to the car’s four comfortable seats. GTC stands for Grand Turismo Coupes and Lusso means luxury in Italian.

The 6,262cc 12-cylinder engine delivers smooth, consistent power, punching out a massive 690 cv at 8,000 rpm, while eliciting a high-pitch harmonious growl. Both its 2.6 kg/cv weight-to-power ration and its 13.5:1 compression ratio set new records for the category, strictly requires high-octane fuel. Maximum torque is at 697 Nm at 5,750 rpm with 80% already available at just 1,750 rpm for superb responsiveness event at low revs. 0-100 km in 3.4 seconds with a top speed at 335km/h.

Based on the latest, fourth generation of the Side Slip Control, the new Ferrari-patented 4RM-s (four-wheel drive, four wheel-steering) system integrates and controls the 4RM Evo four-wheel drive’s PTU (Power Transfer Unit), the rear wheel steering, E-Diff and SCM-E active damping.

Penned by the Ferrari Design team, led by Mr. Flavio Manzoni, the GTC4Lusso is a further refinement of the shooting brake coupe, reinterpreting the concept with an extremely streamlined, tapered silhouette that underscores its perfect balance of elegance and sportiness while incorporating comfortable rear seats and a roomy boot behind them.

At the front, the new Dual Cockpit architecture enhances the shared driving experience for both driver and passenger. In fact, four plush wrap-around seats and the cabin’s meticulously crafted quality materials create the same ambience as a luxurious living space for all occupants. One of the selection criteria for the materials adopted was weight reduction to heighten the sense of sporty luxury typical of a thoroughbred Ferrari. The navigation and infotainment platform, featuring a 10.2” HD screen with capacitive touch technology, is also new.
