And It is HUGE!

Ford Philippines has launched the new Transit in the Philippine shores only with a 15-seater passenger shuttle configuration, replacing the E-150 in the passenger van segment.

“Given its global success in boosting productivity for businesses, we at Ford are excited to bring the all-new Transit with the continued growth of the light commercial bus and van segment (LCBV) in the Philippines. The all-new Transit offers unique appeal to businesses and relevant sectors and is poised to help drive productivity and business growth,” Ford Philippines Managing Director PK Umashankar said in a statement.

With a utilitarian design that exerts a strong presence on the road, the Transit’s design looks the part. Its signature three bar grille, halogen reflector headlamps with daytime-running lights, steels wheels with hub caps, and black bumper moldings help the car stand out from other vehicles in the segment. Passenger entrance and exit assists come courtesy of a power side step and rear bumper step, and yellow handrails. The tall roof allows for tall people to egress and ingress easier.

The huge size allows it to seat 15 passengers, measuring 5981mm long, 2474mm wide and 2517mm tall. With 21 stowage bins and 12 cup holders it also has the space to keep the passengers’ stuff without hassle. It comes available with Ford’s SYNC entertainment system with AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, as well as multiple power sockets allow changing of devices inside the vehicle.

The Transit is powered by a 2.2 litre Duratorq TDCi four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 135 horsepower and 385Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission which sends its power to the rear wheels. A keyhole located at the black plastic grille is used to open the hood.

Electronic Stability Program, three-point seatbelts, ABS are included as safety features. The rear hatch can be opened using the red hatches at the rear for easier emergency escape.

The Transit costs PHP 2,300,000, and 3 colours are available: Frozen White, Moondust Silver and Magnetic Metallic, and is now available in all Ford dealerships. For all Transit customers, Ford Philippines has also provided a five-year scheduled maintenance plan to all owners of the vehicle. The car is manufactured in Ford’s plant in Turkey.
